BIG PARTY IN RED RIVER DISTRICT WITH NO SPAR PERMIT OR SECURITY

At a time when the Shreveport Police Department is concerned about large gatherings in areas with no permits, the SPD overlooked a major event in the Red River District.

This past Friday the Huntington Alumni Association had a big party in the Red River District. The party featured live bands and a banner reading “Huntington and Harmony.”

Pictures of the event show 1500 plus people celebrating in the district with open bottles of liquor.

The Red River District (RRD) is owned by the City of Shreveport and managed by SPAR. City ordinance requires a SPAR permit to stage events in the RRD.

NO PERMIT WAS OBTAINED FROM SPAR  FOR THIS EVENT.

THERE WAS NO SECURITY FOR THE EVENT, WHICH IS A REQUIREMENT TO OBTAIN A SPAR PERMIT.

Reportedly this was the second major party gathering in the RRD in recent weeks with NO SPAR permit.

Thankfully there was no violence Friday evening.
