CADDO DA WANTS TO DISQUALIFY CADDO JUDGE VICTORY

The Caddo District Attorney's office has filed a Motion to Recuse Caddo Judge Chris Victory from trying the criminal trial of Ryan Chapman.

The motion, if granted, removes Judge Victory from the case.

Judge Victory has refused to recuse himself.

It is expected that Caddo District Judge Don Hathaway will conduct the recusal hearing.

Hathaway is a former assistant DA and former assistant U.S. attorney.

The pleadings allege that Victory is bias and prejudicial.

Victory has denied the allegations.

The DA's motion is a precedent in Caddo Parish.

To date, no motions to recuse a judge filed in Caddo Parish have been granted.
